When my family decided that we were going to join one of the many Phoenix sports leagues, I figured that we would join something like kickball or basketball. I never thought that my parents would go for the Scottsdale sand volleyball league. That is a very strenuous sport to play and in this heat, I am not quite sure that my parents can handle it.

I am not usually one to speak up and say anything but I am thinking that maybe we should look at other Phoenix sports leagues that do not require such an effort in one hundred plus degrees. I would think that my sister and brothers will agree but I cannot reach either of them right now.

The people from the Scottsdale sand volleyball league called me shortly after I tried to call my brother and sister, to let me know that they already had too many teams and would not be able to accommodate my family on their schedule. I guess that I do not have to say anything more than that, when my brother and sister call me back. It will make it easier on all of us, if we do not have to tell our parents that we think they are too old to be playing sand volleyball.

Our insurance agent told us that his company is lowering their rates on term life insurance policies and we would not find a better deal than this. I was a little skeptical at first, but since neither of us have any life insurance; I thought that we should check it out. My wife and I made an appointment to sit down with our agent and see what he could offer us and find out if it was really as affordable as he was saying it was.

Our agent also brought some literature on other types of insurance that are available. I was interested in the no medical life insurance policies, since it seemed like you could set it up really fast. I am not too keen on doctors and the thought of having a physical, to get approved for this low rate term life insurance, was not sitting well with me. My wife was only looking at the numbers and not at the fact that we could set up the no medical life insurance much quicker. I did not care about spending a little more money, if it meant not having to go to the doctors.

In the end, I won the argument and we did not get the term life insurance that required the physical. I think that it only ended up being a couple of hundred dollars more and over time, it really does not seem like a lot of money.

Selling gold right now these days has become very popular, all due to the cost of gold. I guess that the gold prices are at an all time high and every jewelry store and jewelry buyer wants to give you money for your old gold jewelry. I know that my sister sold a bunch of things to her local jewelry store and got over twelve hundred dollars for just selling old gold things that she did not wear anymore.

I have thought about selling gold jewelry that I do not wear anymore, but I do not need the money and I would like to pass down some of the pieces to my daughter when she is older. I wish that my sister would have saved the gold locket that she had that matched mine, but I know that it was in with the other pieces when she was selling old gold jewelry to the store. It would have been nice for both of our daughters who are only a few months apart to each have the same locket that we were given on our eighteenth birthday.

Had my sister told me that she was thinking of selling gold jewelry then I would have asked her to sell me the locket, or at least my idea about giving them to our girls, but she did not consult with me first and she really did not have to.
