I will sell old silver dollar coins to my kids like they are million dollar prizes for exchange for their chores and they know it. I made this deal with them and they all like it very much. It does take them eight hours of chores to earn the right to buy the silver with their hard labor but they never complain. For every hour of chores, they are given a fake mommy buck and when they get eight, I sell old silver dollar coins to them for the mommy bucks back.
My oldest daughter has looked online to figure out that if she holds on to the silver dollars for a long time, that she can actually sell silver dollars to pay for real things in the real world. I am sure that when she was younger she thought that the silver dollars were pretty and shiny but realizing what they are actually worth, has made her work even harder and longer doing her chores.
My husband has credited our kid’s willingness to help out around the house to the fact that they can sell silver dollars to their friends at school for ten times the amount that they would be getting from the mommy bucks. I enjoy teaching them that hard work and dedication pays off in many ways.
I was so happy to find out that I got the job as the receptionist at the website design company that just opened up last week. I had seen their ad in the paper and took my resume in as soon as I read it. I knew that jobs were very hard to come by these days and I expected to be one of possibly hundreds applying for this job and was not sure if I would even get an interview.
I made sure to put that my parents owned a very well known Phoenix website design company and that I had worked there every day after school and during summer breaks for the past seven years right at the top of the resume. I called and let the girl who works in human resources at my parents Phoenix website design company know that someone may be calling to check up on my work history and she told me to not worry, she would give me a great reference.
After being called in for the interview, and seeing twenty other people sitting in the website design company waiting room, I did not have a good feeling about getting hired but afterwards I felt great. I was able to carry on a very professional conversation about web designing with the woman who interviewed me and I could tell that she was impressed.
I have been looking over our budget for the next year and trying to figure out if we may be able to cut some of the unnecessary spending that we have done in the past. I changed our long distance provider and went with a bundle package that includes phone and internet, and that saved about fifty dollars a month.
I had my secretary look into how much money we can save on office supplies by using the local discount office furniture store that also sells office supplies. I have heard that they have great prices but since we have always just used the office supplies store that is across the street, I have not checked into it till now. I realize that convenience may not be the best reason for keeping the same provider when your bottom line is not where it should be.
If we can save just another fifty dollars a month on using the discount office furniture then that will be a savings of twelve hundred dollars a year, on just two items that we took the time to look into. I cannot imagine what would happen if we could find five or six more things to either cut back on, or find new suppliers.
I was really looking forward to having the poweredge servers installed over the weekend but after my secretary dropped one of them and broke off a little piece, I knew that it was not going to happen. I called a dell repair specialist that I have used before and they came out and looked at it and told me that they would have to order the part and it would probably take about three days for it to come in.
If they got the part for the poweredge servers in, then I might be able to still have them installed this weekend. I was not holding my breath because sometimes things do not come in like they say and parts are on backorder all the time. The dell repair company assured me that this was a part that they were sure was in stock and as long as it shipped out by three today, they would have it within the time they had quoted me.
Exactly three days later the repair shop let me know that they would be by to install the broken piece on my server with a new one. I was happy that they got to it so quickly since I had lined up the installation crew and gave them the go ahead for this weekend. By Monday, my company would be online with brand new poweredge servers.
