Glow Items Are a Family Tradition

I remember sitting at the local festival on the ground right before the fireworks were going to start, and my mom bringing me one of those glow necklaces to wear. I got one every year, and every year I would put it in the freezer to make it last longer.

I would pull it out for days after the festival was over and wear it around the house and outside when it got dark. I wanted my kids to experience those memories, so while we were on vacation this year, we visited a local shop that specialized in glow in the dark products.

I let them pick out whatever they wanted. Two of my kids chose the glow glasses and one chose the glow necklaces that I was so fond of as a child. I myself had to buy one of the glow necklaces to wear that night.

My wife thought that we looked very silly walking down the beach with our glow glasses and glow necklaces but we thought that we looked cool. She took a great picture of us that I hung up in the study. It is my favorite picture with my kids.

Ever since that vacation, we always have to find a shop that sells something glow in the dark for all of us to wear. My wife has still not warmed up to the idea.
